Developing policy is a complex activity that often has to be undertaken under significant time pressure. It's simply not feasible to undertake a full futures exercise for every piece of policy development, but policy analysts are all too well aware that their policy recommendations will need to work in a rapidly changing world.

This half-day workshop provides a structured methodology for testing your policy objective, solutions and mechanisms against a range of possible future contexts.

You'll consider:

• The policy objective - will the policy goal still be relevant (necessary, desirable) in a different future?
• The policy solution - will the policy outcome still be relevant (necessary, desirable) in a different future?
• The policy mechanism - will the way you go about reaching the policy solution still be relevant (still possible, the best way) in a different future?
